The Sustainable Hospitality Alliance’s global summit concluded with a strong commitment to advance the Pathway to Net Positive Hospitality as part of its 5-year strategy. The summit marks a pivotal moment in the journey towards Net Positive Hospitality.

This strategic gathering united influential hotel brands, suppliers, and partner organizations, igniting a collective commitment to drive change for the betterment of our planet, people, place and prosperity.

At the heart of this transformative event were the formation of Standing Committees, dedicated to harmonizing industry standards and certifications, updating the Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative, and establishing a Net Positive Capital Investment fund aimed at catalyzing positive change and supporting local supply chains.

In addition to these groundbreaking initiatives, the summit introduced the Net Positive Hospitality Academy and a powerful business simulation tool. These resources are designed to equip hospitality leaders with the knowledge and skills they need to champion sustainability in their operations.

The summit did not stop at environmental concerns; it also recognized the industry’s responsibility in addressing social injustices and acknowledged the profound influence of Gen Z values on shaping sustainability priorities. Together, this summit reinforced the industry’s unwavering commitment to a more sustainable and socially responsible future

In short, here are our four key takeaways from the event:
