Sustainability Kiosk: Our Journey Through the MITdesignX Dubai Accelerator
We were thrilled to be part of the MITdesignX Dubai (MDXB) accelerator program, a launchpad for ventures tackling urban sustainability challenges. Think intensive workshops, insightful mentorship, and collaborating with passionate entrepreneurs – all aimed at helping us refine our concept and make a real impact.
The program ran from October 2023 to January 2024, and each phase was like a stepping stone towards building a strong foundation. We started by solidifying our value proposition and target market, making sure our “why” and “who” were crystal clear. Next, we dove into gathering user feedback that helped us iterate and improve. Finally, we honed our go-to-market strategies and fundraising pitches, preparing for the exciting world beyond the program.
Throughout the journey, we were fortunate to learn from experienced mentors – industry experts and MIT alumni who shared their wisdom and guided us like seasoned explorers. Additionally, the camaraderie with fellow entrepreneurs was invaluable, their diverse perspectives sparking creativity and fuelling our collective drive.
The program culminated in a pitch day on February 1st, 2024, where we presented our refined concept to investors. While we didn’t win the top prize, the experience was incredibly rewarding. It validated our idea, provided valuable feedback, and solidified our commitment to making a positive impact.
The MDXB accelerator wasn’t just a program; it was a transformative experience. As Gilad Rosenzweig Executive Director MITDesignX states “An idea without action is just an idea…” We gained the skills, knowledge, and network to propel Sustainability Kiosk forward. We’re excited to use what we learned to create a path to impact, make a real difference in the world of urban sustainability, enabling hotels to decarbonise and make in impact in the areas of waste, water and energy.
Stay tuned! We’ll be sharing our progress and insights as we move forward. Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any questions or are interested in joining us on this mission.
