PFAS-free is the new clean.

“Forever chemicals” like PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) — long used in personal care items, water-resistant coatings, and even hotel bedding — are under increasing global scrutiny. California is now joining a wave of U.S. states banning them from cookware, food packaging, and amenities.

Why it matters: PFAS don’t break down in the environment and accumulate in the human body. Linked to cancer, immune suppression, and developmental issues, these chemicals are becoming a red flag in both public health and brand reputation.
