First UAE Sustainable Hotel Assosiation Meeting a Success

The first formational meeting for the UAE Sustainable Hotel Association, held on 10th September at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, was hosted by Bryanne Tait, Global Senior Director Sustainability at Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts.

With representation from 12 leading hospitality companies, the session was an inspiring step towards shaping the vision and mission of this new association, focused on driving sustainable excellence across the UAE hospitality sector.

Key Highlights from the meeting:

• Engaging discussions on key sustainability priorities, including waste management challenges, circular economy practices, renewable energy adoption, and enhancing supply chain transparency through regulatory reporting.
• Open-floor debates on establishing a unified platform to advance individual sustainability efforts in the hospitality industry, supported by a strong governance structure.
• A comprehensive review of the Responsible Hoteliers Summit content, identifying critical areas that need immediate attention for the larger upcoming industry event.

Brands in attendance were Accor, Emaar Hospitality Group, Rotana, Radisson, Four Seasons, Jumeirah, Minor Hotels, Boca, Atlantis The Palm Dubai Resort, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Rove Hotels, and Mandarin Oriental.

These important discussions carried over into the Responsible Hoteliers Summit on 3rd October at Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, where the the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance are collaborators.
