At Sustainability Kiosk, we are always excited to spotlight innovative initiatives that drive the hospitality industry toward a more sustainable future. One such initiative is the 360 Weave™ Textile Recycling Initiative by Dr. Linen, who recently collaborated with our partners The First Group Hotels (TFG Hotels) and Millennium Hotels to make a significant impact on textile waste management.

Our Partners

  • Dr. Linen: A leader in sustainable textile solutions, Dr. Linen provides the expertise and innovative processes that make textile recycling feasible on a large scale.
  • TFG (The First Group): As a prominent player in the hospitality sector with more than 2800 keys, TFG brings its extensive network and commitment to sustainability to the table, helping to amplify the initiative’s impact.
  • Millennium Place Dubai Marina: Dedicated to implementing sustainable practices across its operations, making it a key partner in driving the success of the 360 Weave initiative

Transforming Waste into Opportunity

In March 2024, our hotel partners, The First Group Hotels handed over 2.5 tons while the Millennium Place Dubai Marina handed over 1 ton of end-of-life linen to the 360 Weave™ initiative. These textiles, no longer fit for use, were repurposed into new, useful materials through advanced recycling techniques. This initiative is not just about recycling; it’s about creating a circular economy where waste is seen as a resource rather than a burden.

How it Works

  1. Collection: Used textiles are gathered from participating hotels.
  2. Processing: The textiles are sorted and processed by Dr. Linen’s state-of-the-art recycling facilities.
  3. Repurposing: The recycled materials are transformed into new products, which are then reintroduced into the hospitality industry or donated to those in need.
The process behind 360 Weave™ ensures that textiles are broken down and reconstituted into new fabrics, which can then be reused within the hospitality industry or other sectors. This not only reduces the need for virgin materials but also significantly cuts down on the waste sent to landfills, contributing to a more sustainable planet.
